GUIDE™"
- The self-aligning Housing Joint & Sliding Dovetail Slot Cutting Jig.
The "Accurate Guide™", US Patent #5738470, is a router accessory
for cutting very accurate housing joints (dados) and sliding dovetail
slots. The "Accurate Guide™" can be set for joint thickness
from 1/4" through to 1-1/2".
An "Accurate Guide™" is simple to use; for each housing
or sliding dovetail joint there is a "two step" process after you have
set aside two off cuts of your shelf: -
 Step
1 Set up your straight edge fence where you want the joint to be and
proceed to route your "first cut".
Step 2 Insert the "off cuts" in the Large or Small Pockets
of the "Accurate Guide™", thus eliminating the need to
move the straight edge for the second "finishing cut", and proceed
to make "final cut".
Two steps give two benefits; reduce labour time by at least half and
the most precise cut and fit possible.
In the event you wish to make very fine adjustments, you can use a "paper
or thin card shim" to achieve your perfect fit.
