The
Complete Source For Quality Router Fence & Table Components And Systems
What to look for in a good router table solution
- A flat working surface - see MDF versus Phenolic
- Plenty of space to the front of the fence and on the "In Feed" & Out
Feed" table areas
- A robust and adjustable fence, weigh up the features and benefits
of the Woodpecker LE Fence versus an Incra LS Positioner with WonderFence
- A flat router plate preferably with built in "Height
Adjustment"
- A good dust collection system both on the fence and under the table
in the area of the router
The
Woodpecker LE32 Routing Centre available either as a complete
"Routing Centre Package" solution comprising the Woodpecker LE 32
Fence, the Model 2432 Router Table Top, the LE Stand & Wheel Kit with
a Woodpecker router mounting plate from a choice of phenolic or aluminium
plates, or the Woodpecker UniLift.
Or if you are so minded, you can customise your own by selecting specific
components i.e. table tops, fence, router mounting plate or router lifts
etc. Our objective is that you get the "ROUTING
TABLE SOLUTION" you require!
This is for those woodworkers requiring a better solution than the small
aluminum router table/fence combinations and compromises offered by various
manufacturers.
The LE Router Table Top
The
table top is at the heart of the system and LE Table Top will form the
basis of a router table second to none with the router centred in the
32" direction and set back 14" in the 24" direction; you will have 448
square inches of accessible work surface. That's more then the entire
area of many router tables. On top of that you'll benefit from the flatness
and stability of the 1-3/8"thick (35 mm) double-core laminated router
top, CNC machined with an opening to perfectly fit the fifteen different
router mounting options offered by Woodpecker.
When the LE Fence and Table are purchased together we offer the Scale
Track in 9-1/8" lengths. Each set includes a left and right track along
with scales and installation screws.
LE Router Table Fence
The
fence is machined from 5/16" thick aluminium stock incorporating a variety
of features to accommodate dust collection, sub-fences, table attachment
and more. The fence is gold anodized for years of corrosion free usage
and comes standard with a Dust Collection Housing, 2-1/2" Hose Adaptor,
Clamp Knobs, a pair of Zero-clearance Sub-fences and 1/32" Offset Shims
for jointing (planing cuts). It can be used without sub-fences when a
smooth, un-interrupted, large opening surface is needed or with optional
wooden auxiliary sub-fences. The sub-fences are 3/4" thick MDF and come
with knobs and bolts attachment. Both fence halves can be adjust to clear
the bit or routed to match the profile of the cutter for zero-clearance.

The heart of a router table - the Woodpecker UNILIFT
This
router accessory is a four post design and is offered with:
- 1/16 Fast or 1/32 Fine pitch height adjustment, this means you now
have a choice of rapid height adjustment with 1/16" per revolution and
.002" per graduation or 1/32" per revolution and .001" per graduation,
with no special tools required. A chain drive offers durable, slip free
transmission during the crank handle rotation
- Height adjustment range of 3-3/4"
- A brake for locking the height setting
- An interchangeable router mounting plate with pre-machined hole patterns
for many different routers so now virtually every router type can be
adjusted from above the table. A blank router plate is available for
customization. The UniLift's four post support is superior to other
parallel plate style router lifts as they support the router from one
side only and generally using only two posts. The Woodpecker Unilift
provides support on both sides of your router with four precision ground
and polished steel posts. Each UniLift comes with both a 3" and 8" extended
length crank Handle, (3) machined TwistLOCK rings, a steel core nylon
sleeved Starting Pin, plated Spanner Wrench, Brake Wrench and mounting
screws for the following routers:
Porter-Cable 690, 7529, 890, 8529, 7518, 7536, 7539
Bosch 1613, 1615, 1617, 1618
Fein RT1800
Hitachi M12V
Makita 3612C, 1101
DeWalt 621, 625, 6184, 610
Freud FT2000
Triton TRC-001
Milwaukee 5619, 5625
This accurate, ruggedly built tool will serve you for years. Woodpecker
guarantees it, for life, the patent pending Woodpecker UNILIFT
is manufactured by them in the USA.
The MDF versus Phenolic argument
In today's market, there are basically two different materials used to
manufacture quality router tables, MDF and Phenolic. Contrary to the impression
projected by some, Phenolic is not new to router tables as it is a constituent
part of the material used to cover the top and bottom of Woodpecker
router tables, and is commonly sold under such trade names as Formica
etc.
Now there are a variety of thicknesses ranging from .018" thick vertical
grade to .048" horizontal grade. Woodpecker uses .048" thick horizontal
grade on both sides of ALL of its MDF router tables. The advantage of
using phenolic laminated to MDF versus solid phenolic is flatness.
MDF as a core material is about perfect, all things considered.
It has a thickness tolerance of +/- .005" for a 3/4" thick sheet versus
.034" for a similar thickness piece of solid phenolic. In addition to
all that, phenolic is substantially more expensive, roughly double the
price, for less flatness.
That's why all Woodpecker Router Tables are made with multiple
layers of MDF for the core, and horizontal grade phenolic laminate for
the surface. In fact even the adhesive we use is special. Contact cement
can leave unwanted surface contours that compromise flatness, so we use
a compound that is as thin as water and when subjected to 50 tons of pressure
and heat, actually welds the laminate to the MDF without any measurable
glue line.
That quality process yields the flattest possible router table with all
the benefits of a phenolic wear surface without the negative drawbacks
of a thick piece of laminate.
In passing a brief note about MELAMINE, Woodpecker only use melamine
for shelf products as it is a mica based paint type coating that is only
slightly better then bare MDF. We do not recommend using Melamine for
a router table, unless it is only needed for a one-time project.

Woodpecker Drill Press Tables - your choice
The
Woodpecker TT+ Drill Press Table will increase the surface area of
your existing table while also providing a repositionable fence for drilling
holes in a straight line as well as sliding stops for proper hole spacing.
The 18 ply, phenolic coated, Baltic Birch Table is 23-3/4" x 17-3/4"
and 1" thick. The fence length is 36" and scales are included in both
the table and the fence.
The new Woodpecker Quick-Stop LP Drill Press Table has a unique,
very Low Profile fence only ½" tall. At this height, interference
with the drill chuck is minimized. In addition, new Track- Lock
devices are used to not only lock the fence in the front to back direction
but also allow the fence to be adjusted and locked from side-to-side.
By shifting the fence left or right, the stop range can be extended up
to 35" from the drill bit. (Longer, 48" sections of scale track are sold
separately.)
This Quick-Stop system itself is built on our 23-3/4 x 17-3/4 phenolic
coated, Baltic Birch core, drill press table. With this large surface
area, you'll be able to easily manage wood furniture and cabinet parts.
